At the Top of My Lungs

So much good has happened in the last week. Rowenna has all of a sudden exploded onto the scene here. She’s always been perky and pleasant, but it’s like someone flipped an awareness switch in her brain.

In the last week, she has started to initiate interactions with us. If I’m on the couch and she’s on the floor, she’ll make her way over to me and tug on my pants or grab my foot and chatter until I look down. She’s playing peek-a-boo, and will put your hand up over your eyes so she can pull it back off to “discover” you again. She has one tooth and is cutting another. She will roll a ball back and forth with you. She’s trying to pull up to look out over the side of her crib. And…

Baby Girl is army crawling. I, of course, cried when this happened for the first time. She saw the great big therapy ball a couple feet away and instead of doing her roll-pivot-roll routine, she just started putting one arm over the other, pushed off her legs, and bam. She reached the ball. And she hasn’t looked back. Every day she’s getting better and better at this.

She’s getting good enough that today she was able to tackle the cat. Jax was not amused, but Rowenna was certainly pleased with herself!

Ya Baha’u’l Abha! My baby is movin’ and shakin’ and I couldn’t be more proud.

Can you hear me singing

At the top of my lungs?

Greater is God than every great one.

Words from the Baha’i writings – Performed by Devon Gundry
